James Edward Orr, Jr. was born on May 15, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York. He was affectionally known as “Tuffy” to his family and friends. He departed this life on October 20, 2020. James was preceded in death by his mother the late Alberta Orr and father, James Edward Orr, Sr.
James worked for the Board of Education for 10 years and then for Cablevision/Altice for 23 years. He was a devoted, and loyal employee. Everyone who knew him loved his quiet gentle soul.
He loved singing and spent hours rehearsing and writing music. When he was younger, he participated in talent shows and usually won the first prize. He had a beautiful falsetto and baritone voice. His laugh was infectious, and you would automatically savor his hearty laugh.
James lived life to the fullest. He was always sharp and took pride in how he looked and dressed. He also loved travelling and his favorite place was Aruba. He planned on going back to Hawaii to capture the beautiful sunset again.
James was a fighter and he fought a good fight. His wife Louise Orr was by his side during the difficult journey. His family also gave him the strength to continue fighting. The strength and courage he showed during his journey made everyone who knew his plight stronger as well. He is at peace and is resting in the arms of the Lord.
James does not want anyone to shed tears for him. He wants everyone to make peace with one another as life is short. Cherish each waking moment.
He will always be treasured and remembered and leaves to cherish his legacy his devoted wife Louise Orr, sisters Patricia Winston, April Orr, niece Salange Winston, and a host of cousins, family members, and a host of friends.
